Hardanger Paired Mesh
ADAMS Hardanger (Attica) is a specially weaved fabric in 2x2 yarns lay in pairs, or with the same technique but in 4by 4 group laid yarns (Monks cloth).
The Attica fabric is a 20 per inch ( 8 / cm) evenweave fabric.
The whitework embroidery or hardanger is drawn thread work technique sometimes combined with white counting threads to embroider. The result is a beautiful handmade table cover / table runner or a curtain decorated with openings. The best fabric base to work on the white work is the Attica (hardanger) fabric, as it is an easy to draw threads fabric.
The punch needle rug hooking technique is well worked on the Hardanger or on the Panama 13 per inch ( 5.4 / cm) evenweave fabric as backing, with all sizes punch needles.
For easy cross-stitching with a heavy thread to cover the obvious holes the best choice as a base fabric is a 2x2 PAIRED CANVAS of 11 count /inch (4,4/cm).
All are made of 100 natural cotton yarns
